VOLVO Truck X AAU
Background
We believe in the future world which will have autonomous transportation that supports humans to have a better quietly of life.
Research
We researched about truck safety and energy conversion on the road. Because of no people on the truck in the future. So, how can we protect our customer's container?
Interaction Design
I created the following low fidelity wireframes in Sketch. Since there wasn't a lot of information and I wanted to keep the design simple, I used a lamination design that a user could easily through and find all the relevant information.
Visual Design
Choice of colour was one way in which we could offset the gender bias. A charcoal grey or other dark colour rather than black can soften the overall look. We also carefully chose a palette of low saturation, but bright pale colours to neutralise any negative information.
The benefits of the use of colour are not only in its look and feel, but also in what it can communicate and importantly how we can colour-code groups of information.
UI Prototype
UI Final Design
We created a monitoring system for tracking and controlling self-driving trucks that can handle unexpected situations for a long haul. Each screen will provide information that will help warehouse controllers take care of all the trucks in the system.
Automotive Design Concept
Provide a self-sustained system that logs live date of environmental and work conditions. By synthesizing as a fleet while having oversight control. Creating a holistic system and the most efficient truck on the road.
